What a fine actor he is!

I recently watched Constant Garderner (thought I have to confess that I skipped a lot of talking scenes in there....blame it on one's inability of watching intense drama late at night)!!!

Oh... what a fine actor he was in this movie. Such intensity through those piercing blue eyes... a man mourning his beloved wife who was brutally killed, making sense of her life and his journey of understanding what had happened to her that lead to her killing.

I saw him as a man with compasssion, a man falling in love, man in love, a man still in love and a man continue to be in love with the woman until his final days.

Such talent and such intensity can only be found through British actors (my 2 sen worth of opinion!). Also comes to mind are Anthony Hopkins and Hugh Grant, though they are in different element of characters/actings... (okay, okay.... Hugh Grant is in the list because he is cute!!).

I don't think the Glamour Hollywood actors can potray such characters as intense (Rambo and Incredible Hulk do not count!) Granted.. yes, they are good looking, macho and whatever else nots (no.. I don't mean Rambo and Incredible Hulk), but rarely to the level of these A+ list of British actors.

So, I guess my two thumbs up goes to the Brits.

Is he as good as he was in The English Patient? oh. And that voice. Am definitely going to your house for viewing. Invited or not.
