I have to say, we had a good trip to Temerloh... taking the East Coast Highway until Lanchang when we decided that the highway was so boring! There was nothing much to see except for oil palm trees and more oil palm trees after we left the Karak Highway.
Sebastian enjoyed the trip very much... when he was not busy sleeping that is! Ever so often he would change his place... the front seat, the back seat and the back dashboard! Ever so often also he would just sit on his cage looking out of the window... observing the green hills and other vehicles on the road that he normally don't see when I drive him around Klang Valley! The big lorries, the slow old cars which model ceased many decades ago, the kampung bicycles, etc.
Anyway, cousin's place was very hot... be it at night or during the day! I mean... it was sauna hot inside the house. We slept with 3 fans on simultenously and we were still prespiring! Needless to say, Sebastian was panting the whole day the first day we were there! His cute and small tounge was out all the way. By the second day, he acclamatised a bit ... and the fact that he was allowed to play outside was a great help to his mood in that weather.
Good food, good company and good rest.. then back to KL on Monday!
Coming back, we decided to take the federal road (I somehow like to refer this as trunk road.. not actually sure why though) all the until Karak. It was a more intersting route with hustle bustle of kampung life along the way. Temptation of stopping at interesting looking roadside stalls were great, but was constantly reminded of low $$$ in the purse (saw nice looking jambu and coconut, weaved basket, rattan furniture, goreng pisang stalls, chendol stalls under shady trees.... lovely!)
Before reaching the house, we were stopped twice at roadblocks. While waiting in queue, I was trying to get Sebastian to sit properly in his cage, which of course he refused to do! So was having some kind of arm wrestling with him.
First roadblock - managed to get him on the floor at the back. The JPA man thought he was in the cage at the back..... sheeshhhh...
Second roadblock - he decided to avoid wrestling with me and settled under my feet (thank God he wasn't in the way of my driving!). The policeman couldn't see him.
Looking back now, I wonder whether there is a law prohibiting your pet running loose in the car. Maybe not... since children in car are allowed to be let loose without the safety of child carseat. But then again, who know for sure about this kind of thing... and even if we know, how many of us really think it is for our own good and actually follow that safety regulation. Who are we kidding eh!!!
I suppose Sebastian was glad to be back home! It is by far cooler and airy.. and plenty of space for him to run around. However, I do think he misses the company of my cousin's daugther who dedicated a good part of her waking time playing with him.
Then last week my place was filled with people! My brother and family came up from the South, and then my sister-in-law's brother and his family came over to visit. And that was a busy time for Sebastian, as he had to entertain all the cat lovers who just adored him!!!
Anyway... this week has been quiet, so Sebastian has been well recuperated from all the excitement. Life for his is back to a quiet one.
I do wonder sometimes whether he would like to have more company at home, besides me that is. I wonder if he gets bored as I can, any time of the day at the house, out do him in sleeping/napping!!!

Kesiannya Sebastian the city cat. Never thought letting the cat run loose in the car would constitute a road offence. hmmm..
Yeah... I wonder whether you can get fined for having loose animal in the car on the road.
Oh yea... Sebastian sends his meow to you. Dia suruh I tanya you, to see if you know any single female persian cat out there who is looking for a boyfriend!!! (dia lah tu!!)
TTG - now that you mentioned! I would love to go for a road trip, but I wonder if pets are allowed in hotel/motel/chalet.
Chedol, air kelapa muda, cekodok, goreng pisang/keledek, keropok lekor, asam laksa, rojak, buah2an tempatan, etc etc etc... best kan!
